Relationship Additional Information:
Bennett recorded the medical case of Hamilton; however, the dates of their relationship are uncertain. According to
The Medical and Surgical History of the War of the Rebellion
(
MSHWR
), Hamilton died on the 22nd of August, three days after being admitted to Fairfax Seminary.
The American Civil War Research Database
(
ACWRD
), however, lists Hamilton's date of death as being ten days earlier, 12 August 1862. To accommodate this discrepancy in dates, we have included a date range for the relationship beginning date. This date range suggests that Bennett may have treated Hamilton a bit earlier than he thought.
