When the 3rd Division General Hospital of Alexandria was disbanded, all of the remaining patients in its various branches were transferred to the Slough Barracks General Hospital, and it was renamed.

Place information: Upon the reorganization of the hospitals of Alexandria on Sept. 20, 1862, the 3rd Division General Hospital consisted of these general hospitals: Old Hallowell, New Hallowell, Queen St., King St., Grosvenor House, McVeigh, Slough Barracks, Bentley Barracks.

Place information: This hospital was located in a series of wooden barracks that had housed the Veterans' Reserve Corp. It was opened as a branch of the 3rd Division Hospital of Alexandria. On May 1, 1865, the Slough Barracks General Hospital became the Slough General Hospital. All of the remaining patients in 3rd Division hospitals were sent to Slough General Hospital at that time.
