4th Virginia Infantry

  • Robert Bibb enlisted into E Company of the 4th Virginia Infantry as Private. He died of wounds as a POW while serving this regiment. Bibb was taken POW on 6 February 1864 and, according to The American Civil War Research Database, he died two months later. The Medical and Surgical History of the War of the Rebellion, however, indicates that Bibb died two years later, in 1866.
