B. O. Sheckells of Washington County District of Columbia having claim to the service or labor of Jackson Ogle the undersigned, and having refused or failed to file in your office the statement in writing a schedule provided for in the 9th Section of the Act of Congress entitled "An Act for the release of certain persons held to service or labor in the District of Columbia," approved 16th April 1862—You will please file the annexed schedule in pursuance of an Act supplementary to the above recited act, approved 12th July 1862—the undersigned was a resident of the said County and District on the 16th April 1862 and had resided therein for a long time previous & still resides therein with the knowledge & consent of the said B. O. Sheckells.

Absolam Brown. I have known servant 5 or 6 years in Mr Sheckels employ but whether his servant or no I dont​ know. I have I think known him 10 years. I do not know whether he belonged to or was hired by Mr Sheckels.
