Mrs Maria Morton having claim to the service or labor of the undersigned and having refused or failed to file in your office the statement or schedule provided for in the 9th Section of the act of Congress entitled "an Act for the release of certain persons held to service or labor in the District of Columbia" approved April 16, 1862
You will file the annexed schedule in pursuance of an act supplementary to the above recited act approved 12th July 1862. The undersigned resided in said District before and at the time of the passage of the said supplemental act with said owner's consent.

Mary Donn. servant was here in March last I saw her. she was here 16 Apl. Her mistress brought her here & told her not to leave here as she was coming back she went away & never came back & left girl here among strangers. she was going to Ball & get dress of me.
servt says mistress came here in March boarded on ave. came here to board. she was from Anne Arundel—I dont recollect house she boarded. I hired out. I hired for time at Mrs Duvals on E. st. Mrs Williams brought me here—I had lived [11 years?] with Mrs Williams—was hired to her by Mistress (Morton). I do not know whether I was sold to Mrs Williams or not.
