Relationship information: Cotter was admitted to Washington Post Hospital, where further portions of his leg were amputated. A second specimen was collected at this time and submitted to the Army Medical Museum.

Relationship information: Ruoss was admitted into the Post Hospital at Washington following the closing of Harewood Hospital. He died of disease associated with his injury while at the Post Hospital.
