The post hospital at Camp Fry provided care for the Veteran Reserve Corps (V.R.C.) after the Martindale Barracks Post Hospital closed on December 1, 1863. Upon the closing of Camp Fry Post Hospital, care of the V.R.C. transferred to the Sixth U.S. Veteran Volunteers.
