                <p><hi rend="initialcap">C</hi>ASE.&#8212;<name type="person" key="306">Private
                        Jackson W. Vorhees</name>, <name type="organization" key="160">Co. I, 27th
                            Michigan Volunteers</name>, aged 38 years, received, at the battle of <name
                                type="BATTLE" key="263">Cold Harbor, Virginia</name>, <date
                        type="injury" when="1864-06-03">June 3d, 1864</date>, a gunshot flesh wound
                    of the left temple.  He was, on <date type="admit" when="1864-06-08">June 8th</date>, admitted to the hospital of the Third Division, Ninth Corps, and
                    on <date type="transfer" when="1864-06-14">June 14th</date>, to the <name
                        type="hospital" key="187">Second Division Hospital</name> at <name type="palce">Alexandria</name>.
                    Simple dressings were applied.  Death occurred on <date type="death"
                        when="1864-06-28">June 28th, 1864</date>.   <name type="person" key="307">Surgeon T. Rush Spencer</name>, <name type="organization" key="132">U. S. V.</name>, reported the case. </p>
