                        <p> <hi rend="initialcap">C</hi>ASE 62.&#8212;<name type="person">Private John Shay</name>, <name type="organization">Co. G, 16th N. Y. Cav.</name>;
                                        age 35; while in hospital under treatment for chronic
                                        rheumatism was attacked, <date type="injury" when="1862-05-02">May 2, 1865</date>, with pneumonia.  Typhoid symptoms appeared on <date type="injury" when="1865-05-11">the 11th</date>, and death took place on <date type="death" when="1865-05-14">the 14th</date>.   <hi rend="italic">Post-mortem</hi> examination: Left lung, except a
                                        small portion at the base, solidified, of a dirty-gray
                                        color, firm and fatty; right lung congested. Other viscera
                                        normal.&#8212;<hi rend="italic"><name type="hospital" key="218">Augur Hospital</name>, <name type="place" key="#Alexandria">Alexandria, Va.</name></hi> </p>
