You will please file and record in your office the annexed statement and schedule, under the provisions of an act of Congress, entitled "An act for the relief of certain persons held to service or labor in the District of Columbia," approved April 16th, 1862 and also under an act amendatory thereto approved July 12, 1862

The persons mentioned in the foregoing schedule were was, by reason of African descent and acquired title, the property, and by of & held to service and labor in the District of Columbia by Mrs F Turner at the time the act of Congress above cited was approved, the benefit of which is hereby claimed. by the deponent or Petitioner who has resided in the said District of Columbia during the last ten years & more & still resides therein—that during the time aforesaid he has been employed by John A. Smith Esq.Esquire above named upon his farm—that this applicant was held to service or labor by Mrs Franilla Turner who neglected to file her schedule as provided in said act & the undersigned files this schedule in lieu thereof under said act & in accordance with an act amendatory thereto approved July 12, 1862
