Young late of Washington City, D C having claim to the service and labor of the undersigned, and having refused or neglected to file in your Office the statement in writing or schedule provided for in the 9th Section of the Act of Congress entitled "An act for the release of certain persons held to service or labor in the District of Columbia." Approved April 16th 1862. You will please file the annexed schedule in please file the annexed schedule in pursuance of an act supplementary to the above recited Act approved July 12th 1862. the undersigned resided in said District on the 16th April with the consent of said owner

Jonathan T. Prout. servant belonged to family hired her, paid her wages, lived with us since last [winter?]. Known her for some years. was her​ last April. Dont know that her Mistress lived here. I only know from what servant told me.
