CASE 294.—Autopsy: Body greatly emaciated. The heart was normal. There were slight pleuritic adhesions on both sides; tubercular cavities in the upper lobe of the right lung, its lower lobe hepatized. The liver, spleen, and kidneys were normal. There were patches of congestion throughout the whole intestinal canal, especially in the lower portion of the ileum. The mucous membrane of the stomach was softened; that of the rectum thickened.
